Beginner's Guide: Your First Runs
How a run works in Level Legends, what to focus on in your first battles, and what you keep after a run ends.

Your first few runs in Level Legends will go by fast. This guide covers what is happening on screen, which choices matter early, and what you keep once a run is over.
Starting a run
Open the game in your browser at web.level-legends.app or as a Telegram Mini App. Choose an island or another available activity, and you are in the fight. The best way to learn is to play a run and pay attention to how it ends.
Combat basics
Combat is active. You position your hero, stay out of dangerous zones and keep enemies inside your effective attack range. Where you stand matters as much as what you picked.
A few things worth knowing from the start:
- Range matters. If enemies are outside your attack range, you are not dealing damage. Move so the fight happens where you want it.
- Waves escalate. Regular encounters arrive in waves, and they get harder. A build that deletes single targets can still get overwhelmed when monsters surround you. Area damage and control make dense waves much safer.
- Bosses are a different test. They have stronger patterns and the fights last longer. Watch what a boss does before you get greedy, and give survivability more weight than you think you need.
Some effects change the basic rules. Run 'N' Gun, for example, lets you attack while moving, but it reduces your movement speed.
The full breakdown is on the Combat System page.
Picking modifiers
During a run the game offers you modifiers. Each one has a rarity and a stack limit, and some only appear once you already have a specific modifier active.
Early on, the most useful habit is to pick things that work together instead of whatever shows the biggest number. Attack speed, critical stats, control, sustain and secondary effects can multiply one another, so two modest picks that combine often beat one flashy pick on its own. If you go for crits, remember there are two stats involved: critical chance controls how often a crit happens, and critical damage controls how hard it hits.
Two defensive details that are easy to miss:
- With the right modifier, your Energy Shield fully restores at the start of each wave.
- Shield Regen only regenerates Energy Shield during boss combat.
You can browse the current pool, including rarities and prerequisites, on the Modifiers page.
What carries between runs
Modifiers belong to the run you are in. When it ends, they are gone. Your equipment and permanent progression stay with you, and that is what makes the next attempt stronger.
A simple routine after each run:
- Equip anything that is a clear upgrade.
- Keep gear that supports the playstyle you enjoy.
- Visit the Forge to salvage what you don't need and upgrade what you plan to keep.
Then go again. Each run teaches you something about positioning, waves or a boss pattern, even when it ends badly.
