Dungeons Are Coming: Solo or Duo
Dungeons are still in development. Here is what has been announced so far about solo and duo play, keys and weekly chests.

First, the important part: dungeons are in development. This post describes the feature as it has been announced so far. Entry rules, rewards and season timing can still change while the work continues, so read this as a preview, not a rulebook.
What dungeons are about
Dungeons test the equipment and progression you bring into them. Encounters escalate into boss fights where survival, damage uptime and coordination matter. In other words, this is where the hero you have been building between runs gets put under real pressure.
Solo
In a solo run, your build, your route and your final time belong to you. Solo play rewards consistency and a clear plan for every encounter. If you like tuning your own setup and getting a run cleaner each time, this is the mode to keep an eye on.
Duo
Duo lets you invite a friend and coordinate. The interesting part is build space. In solo, damage, control and survival tools all compete for room in a single build. With two players, those tools can be split between two heroes, so one of you can lean into damage while the other brings control or staying power.
That only works if you actually talk to each other. Coordination is one of the things dungeon encounters are designed to test, so a duo with two copies of the same build may get less out of it than a pair with complementary strengths.
Keys, weekly chests and leaderboards
Dungeon keys provide access to runs. Weekly chests and seasonal leaderboards are part of the announced dungeon loop.
We are not listing reward values, entry costs or dates here, because they are not final. Anything specific would be a guess, and we would rather not set expectations the feature might not match.
Two related notes from the wiki that already apply:
- Keys are excluded from the normal equipment Forge flow, so they are not handled like regular gear.
- Dungeon Boosters appear in the item catalog. They are activity resources and do not occupy a normal equipment slot.
How to prepare now
Since dungeons are built around the hero you bring, getting ready looks a lot like normal progression:
- Keep a complete equipped set.
- Use the Forge to upgrade the items you expect to keep, instead of spreading resources across every drop.
- Get comfortable with boss fights in regular runs. Learning to read patterns and survive longer engagements carries over.
- If you want to play duo, find a partner whose playstyle complements yours, not one who plays exactly like you.
None of this is wasted effort. A stronger loadout helps in every activity, whatever the final dungeon rules turn out to be.
Where to follow changes
The Dungeons wiki page is marked as a development page, and it is the place to check as the feature changes. For the gear side of your preparation, see Equipment & Items, and for boss fundamentals, the Combat System page.
